We all love a good skinny jean with heals but could you be doing some serious damage to your back with your fashion choices? A BCA survey of 1,062 women found that almost three-quarters suffer from back pain
Chiropractor Tim Hutchful told the Daily Mail, ‘I am always surprised at how many of my patients are unaware that their clothing and accessories can affect their back health and their posture, and equally how many decide their outfit choice outweighs their pain.
He adds, ‘Some of the most popular items of clothing can have a hidden health impact.’ For example skinny jeans can inhibit the flexibility of your legs when you walk while dopt an asymmetrical skirt can cause awkward posture, leading to muscle and disc problems.
Accessories can also be causing harm. Heavy shoulder bags shift your spine and large statement necklaces drag down the neck and can cause pain that may spread to the shoulders and cause tension headaches.
Your best bet is to take note of your choices and vary them.
